elastic strap I can in my factory rack kayak on a 05 Pathfinder? I would not go with the elastic. Use ratchet tie (2-3) in the kayak, then run a string through the lead rope at each end of kayak and tie in the front and rear. Looks like "v". You can buy inexpensive foam songs / blocks that go on the grill and maintain kayak on top of the truck a little better. or, you may be able to do something that works as well.
