March 10, 2009, AWIU hosted the 8 U.S. Department of State Women of Courage awardees at a banquet held at the National Press Club, Washington, DC. The banquet’s theme, “Women’s Partnership for a Better World”, was highlighted by the Women of Courage awardees and by a panel of distinguished women.
