- Monadnock Community Bank, FSB was initially chartered in 1971 as AWANE Credit Union, a credit union sponsored by the Automotive Wholesalers Association of New England, Inc., a nonprofit organization whose purpose is improving relations among wholesalers, manufacturers and dealers in the automotive parts industry.
- To provide more services to the people of Cheshire and Hillsborough Counties, we converted our charter to a Federally Chartered Savings Bank (FSB) in May 1996 and opened our retail banking office in November 1997.
- In October, 2000 our Board of Directors officially voted to change our name to Monadnock Community Bank.
