3DN Restructuring for Abundance

Restructuring for abundance

In my discussion with Martin Rizzi about Building Sustainablity in Tecalpulco, we were discussing the system by which the Indian culture of Mexico imposes an obligation to help maintain communal structures and systems and a mutual assistance obligation. I'm thinking that, should we have a production system that produced essentially "free" food (costing only our internal labor) a membership obligation along those lines might be appropriate and workable.
From that discussion:
  • I was thinking that there is a yearning in the western world to move beyond the employer/employee - career - earn to consume model.
  • It also appears to me that, by cooperating with natural processes, energy, food and fiber could be produced in such abundance that it is unsuited for the "free-market" model.
  • I have labeled the convergence of these thoughts "restructuring for abundance" but have yet to develop a clear model in my mind of the characteristics of such a structure. It seems to me that cuatequitl and the free village cooperation of equals may serve as a good starting point.
