Do you have a personal statement that best describes you?
- My life's journey, this time around has been about healing, first myself, and then, assisting others in healing themselves. My life has necessitated a returning to the still, small voice within my own heart, that inner voice that resonates with the divine spark of every human being that walks upon this earth. I believe that this spark of divinity is the source of truth and great joy.
Do you have a motto or favorite quote that guides you?
- I have two favorites, one is from Albert Einstein who said, "Imagination is more important then knowledge." I find that without the power to imagine something different in our lives we often feel powerless even if we have all the knowledge about what we could do, we find ourselves saying "I can not." I love to help people see past their limits and help them mobilize themselves into action as they meet their desires and dreams through first seeing them, by first "imagining" what is possible.
- I also tell my intuitive students that it is their imagination that is the bottomless source of their intuitive vision. Many of us turn off our intuition. As we are growing up we are given messages that would lead us to believe that our imaginations are deceiving us. If only more people knew the truth!
- The other quote I strongly resonate with is, Plato's, "Know thyself." This is the secret to true personal power. I believe that most of the confusion and pain we experience in life is simply due to the fact that we have "lost ourselves; lost touch with our own souls."
When and how did you first discover you had the gift to help people?
- I remember being a small child helping all the younger children around me. I was the first-born in a family of four children and I was often "put in charge" of their well-being. This role extended into my relationships with neighborhood children and friends. By the time I was in high school, friends and classmates were telling me how they felt they could be themselves with me and that they could tell me anything."
- My emerging role as a professional counselor began during my volunteer work with abused and neglected children when I was in my early twenties. When I could see I made a difference in a child's life, I was hooked! I knew I was going to continue to help others and become a professional counselor.
- My psychic gifts have always been with me, I believe I was "born a healer." It wasn't until I "recognized" my gifts that I began to channel them in constructive ways. I had a number of psychic experiences growing up but did not have a context in which to place them. Since I did not find validation around me for what I saw, I learned to "go numb." I believe too many people find themselves in similar environments.
- Thankfully, this is changing as more and more people "wake-up" to the reality of who they truly are! We are spirits having a physical experience and as spirits we have "spiritual potential." Everyone can "see spirit," not everyone is validated for it." I am so thankful to be a part of people's awakening today as a spiritual counselor and teacher.
- The blueprint of my life has been peppered with challenges; steep hills, dark nights and unexpected turns. This has all been part of the divine plan, I believe, to return me to that still small voice of truth within. All of my challenges have strengthened me and contributed to the store of knowledge I now use to help others.
- One of the most powerful lessons that I have set out to learn in this lifetime has to do with empowering myself to tap into internal love, wisdom and power. Years of training in a multitude of healing fields, has left me with the knowledge that everything that is truly important already exists within me, and all of us. This is why I now find my most important work to be about teaching others to go within and find their treasure. Whether I am counseling, teaching or healing, it is all about bringing people into alignment with their own divine spark within.
How did you get started in this business?
- In my early thirties, after years, and years of formal academic study, I began to grow weary of looking for all my answers inside a book. My spirit was growing restless and I was ready to take a leap forward into the unknown.
- One day, while deeply engrossed in the task of being a graduate psychology student writing her doctoral dissertation, I listened to my gut. That's right, I followed my intuition. As I emerged from the library, with my research article in hand I felt drawn to cross the street. I did not know why, I just wanted to see what was on the other side of the street (in more ways then one.) It was a beautiful sunny day, and I had no other pressing engagements pulling me away and so, I did it.
- I crossed the street. In front of the building was a stack of newspapers. The newspaper was advertising local psychic classes in the area, I knew that this information was for me. I trusted and took the plunge. I called the number and enrolled in my first psychic class, it was entitled "Meditation." This class was all about helping people to go within to find that "still small voice" of inner truth. Well, after just one psychic class, I was hooked! That class was the first of many. I had found "the truth," and it was inside of me!
Do you have any advanced degrees or specialized training?
- I have been in the helping professions for 21 years. My work as an integrative practitioner includes training in the fields of mind, body and spirit.
- Credentials earned include: two accredited graduate degrees in psychology, a Masters in Counseling, M.A., and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Ph.D.; certification in Clinical Hypnotherapy, CCHT; certification in bodywork, as a Certified Massage Therapist, CMT; and licensure as a metaphysical Minister.
- To prepare for my work as a metaphysical practitioner, I extensively trained & taught clairvoyant reading, & spiritual healing at The Berkeley Psychic Institute. I eventually directed the Weekend and Online Clairvoyant Training Programs, assisting in bringing spirituality and technology together to teach busy working people as well as students living all over the planet. My work with the institute spanned ten years.
- Additional metaphysical training & experience includes: Credentials as a Hands on Healer, HOH, from The Church of Aesclepian Healing, Travels to the Philippines to study and work with the Indiginous Faith Healers, Advanced training in Spiritual Healing from Diamond Light School of Massage & Healing, and most valued, years of wisdom gleaned from counseling & teaching thousands of amazing clients.
Do you offer special services or insights that customers might find helpful?
- Today, I combine the best of what I’ve learned from the fields of mental health, bodywork and spirituality and bring to my clients an integrated approach to wellness, growth and healing.
- My mental health training and experience has provided a solid context in which to place my intuitive information. My training in bodywork and spiritual healing enable me to make connections between people’s current struggles and the emotional/physical/spiritual blocks within their body. Years of practicing and teaching intuitive reading enable me to get to the heart of the matter, fast. Finally, the poet in me loves to pull it all together into one cohesive healing metaphor that clients can take with them to continue to fuel their vision for growth and success.
Do you do any charity or non-profit work?
- My charity work has included helping abused, and neglected children. This work has been extremely meaningful to me. There has always been a special place for children in my heart and this work continues.
Why do you love what you do?
- I love making a difference in people's lives. There is nothing more satisfying then motivating another human being to keep moving towards their dreams. I love to see the spark of divinity shinning through their eyes and smile!
