Since 1984, Gay & Lesbian bookstore Vrolijk is one of the biggest and bestknown gay/lesbian bookshops in Europe, with 2 floors - The shop is located smack in the middle of Amsterdam, behind the Queen's Palace on Dam Square.

Bookshop Vrolijk, Amsterdam: the lesbi-gay community bookstore Vrolijk stocks thousands of books + art DVDs, postcards + magazines. Vrolijk is a non-profit emancipation foundation.

We mail a quarterly Bulletin (only within Netherlands + Belgium!), listing new books (novels + non-fiction) and films. We order books that are not in stock and send it to you (There's an order form on the site). We run mailing lists for the digital version of Vrolijks Book- & DVD bulletin and for the announcement of events in the shop - We also sell calendars, gadgets + some porn. We print 'Vrolijk t-shirts' with the slogan "I Read so I am Sexy" [™]. And we organise signing sessions in the shop. In short: we do and sell a lot.
