North Weald Airfield History

Description

pulled from site's meta description

North Weald Airfield History provides information about the history and usage of RAF North Weald from 1916 to the present day. It includes notable people and events (Battle of Britain, Battle of Barking Creek), squadrons (Norwegian and Eagle Squadrons) and aircraft that have connections with the airfield, particularly during World War II. The Airfield is still active, with veteran and classic aircraft (Spitfire, Mustang, Invader, Vampire, Hunter, Dakotas, Yaks and Jet Provosts) landing and taking-off, and community fly-in days. Visitors can also come to the North Weald Airfield Museum, housed in the former Station Office, and the Memorial, dedicated to all who served at this Royal Air Force base.
