About mcnHs.org

McNicholas has its roots in St. Joseph Academy, a boarding school for girls opened by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Bourg in 1915.  In 1950, Archbishop John Timothy McNicholas asked the Sisters if the academy would like to become the first coeducational diocesan high school in the Cincinnati area.  This request was honored by Archbishop Karl J. Alter, and McNicholas High School was inaugurated January 15, 1951.
