My goal is to obtain three-dimensional representations with quantitative information which could help elucidate the fundamental biophysical laws governing biological processes. The main technique I use is cryo electron microscopy (cryo-EM) ideally in combination with light microscopy and other biophysical techniques and with computer modeling and simulations. In my current research I fully exploit the range of technical capabilities afforded by the last generation of electron microscopes.
