About RanchDivaOutitters

Cowgirl or Western Wear fashions can be tough to find at your local mall. Just ask us!

Living "Out West", especially in a tiny High Desert town, it was near-impossible for us to find the cowgirl and western style clothes, accessories and jewelry we wanted to wear, believe it or not. Oh, we had a few expensive tourist boutiques around, but very few can afford Rodeo Drive prices in a place where there are REAL cowboys and cowgirls riding in REAL rodeos. And here we like to dress out in Western style for casual and for business.

So, we slowly gathered online resources where we could find all the cowgirl and upscale Western hats, boots, belts, bags, rhinestone bling, Southwest jewelry and sundries that would cost a small fortune to buy retail. Piece by piece we bought unique and gorgeous cowgirl stuff, and... as we wore our finery around town or when we traveled, other ladies'd always ask, "Where on earth did you find that?" Yep, we'd get stopped by strangers, even in Palm Springs or Vegas, wanting to know our little secret. And, the most fun was pricing our wearables at retail. Many times double what we'd paid. When one of us snagged a vintage Squash Blossom necklace for under $500.00 that was later appraised for $1500.00, and also got an offer of $2000.00 (right smack dab in the heart of American Indian turquoise/silver jewelry central of Arizona)-- we knew we were on to something big.

And so, we decided why not share all our favorite items and sellers with other like-minded ladies, and started up RanchDivaOutfitters.com. That's our story! And speaking of stories, we've written quite a few about the Old West, customs, culture-- lots of interesting reading for you, too. We're putting together stories about some of the ladies of the Old West-- here's an excerpt below.

Excerpted from the website:

THE STORY OF ANNIE OAKLEY
Well, wouldn’t you just know it. The story most of us know about Annie Oakley (“Little Sure-Shot”) was made up in Hollywood to cater to the accepted view of American womanhood in the early to mid 20th century. Let’s refresh ourselves on the version of Annie Oakley’s life as seen through the eyes of Hollywood, first. This version comes from the 1946 Broadway musical starring Ethel Merman, “Annie Get Your Gun”, later made into the MGM film of the same name, in 1950. There has also been a successful Broadway revival in 1999.
