Company History
Rainforest Realty was founded by Rev. Macarena Rose in 2003, when after moving to Belize, she discovered that the majority of Belizean real estate agents were neither licensed nor trained. Though Rev. Rose originally went to Belize as a director of her church, she decided to offer her vast experience of real estate to the entire country. In 2007, when the National Association of Realtors® in the United States recognized the Belizean delegations' efforts to create a professional organization across the country, she became the first President of the Belize National Association of Realtors®.

When a buyer is interested in a listing from Rainforest Realty, the company will work with them through every step of the buying process. Rainforest Realty’s goal is to not waste a buyer’s time with houses or properties that do not meet their needs or are out of their price range. They will work with buyers via email, a private account on RainforestRealty.net, and by phone until they are ready to travel to Belize and walk the properties in person.

To help a buyer get started with the process, Rainforest Realty will help a person pre-qualify, working with a buyer’s financial institution to establish how much they can afford. A large majority of Rainforest Realty's clients come from Europe, Canada and the US. About 35% come from Europe, 40% from Canada and the rest from US. Rainforest Realty gets most of its business from referrals and word of mouth rather than traditional advertising avenues. Some of the most important of their clients include the British consulate, and the Belizean consulate.

Rainforest Realty is one of the only 2000 certified international property specialists and the only one based in Belize. Rev. Macarena Rose herself, is the 2008 President of the Belize National Association of Realtors®. She also hosts a weekly TV show on Belize TV.
