DistributedPlanningGame / PortalCleanup (Obed, Asad)
Why are we doing this?
In order to facilitate the creation of content portals it is important to weed out those portals that have been started as an experiment and then abandoned. This will then leave the portals that have been worked on and are of good quality.
What needs to be done?
- Go through the portals and decide which ones to keep and which to eliminate or move to Category:Portals under construction.
When will it be done?
-
When the remaining portals are all well planned and are clearly not abandoned experiments- All incomplete portals have been moved to Category:Portals under construction
- ErrorLog: Two deleted portals still appear on Portals. The issue has been reported on ErrorLog and Bug Squashing Aug 16-31 page.
Discussion
Why should incomplete portals be removed? What's the difference between an incomplete or abandoned wiki page and an incomplete or abandoned portal?
- Yeah, but the problem is that too many incomplete/anemic portals give people the wrong impression when they come to the portal page. We want people to be inspired when they see what others have done. - Ray | talk
