Revision as of 23:38, 5 December 2006 by Clonesoldier (talk | contribs) (Language)

We are currently getting nearly 2,000 changes per day, most of which are great and improve the resource for everyone. Sometimes, of course, people vandalize pages which then requires cleanup. If you have an interest and a little time, please sign up here to:

  • Help spot vandalism and correct it
  • Welcome new users to the site (you can use {{Template:Welcome}} ).
    • and if possible, add a personal touch, recognize some work they have done.
  • Mark entries you've looked at as "patrolled"
  • For subdomains use {{AddSubdomain}} template
  • For reviews move to talk page and add {{Review}}
  • "No edit left unpatrolled" - this seemed like overkill at first, but the extra upfront effort is worth it because it makes it really clear for everyone on the patrol team where we are and also, if you look at RC with "patrolled edits off" as a default, it makes RC come up MUCH faster.
  • Continuing to develope a "Glossary of terms"

Thanks!

Feature Requests

What would make the RC patrol easier?

  • Constrain the diff output to the width of my screen. Having to scroll right to find the patrol link really slows me down. TedErnst 15:42, 24 November 2006 (PST)
  • Set your profile to automatically mark articles as pattroled. --Simon | talk 15:48, 24 November 2006 (PST)
  • Anyone in particular, Simon? Whoever it is might respond better if they see their own name.
  • How 'bout an access key for "markpatrolled"? TedErnst 10:26, 25 November 2006 (PST)
  • An access key? Everybody should be able to mark items as "patrolled"? --Simon | talk 14:36, 25 November 2006 (PST)
  • I don't want to have to move back and forth between the keyboard and the mouse so much. When I've viewing a diff, I would like a keyboard shortcut to click the patrol link. TedErnst 10:14, 26 November 2006 (PST)
  • Well I'm pretty sure that is impossible; but, if you set in your profile Ted to mark all edits as patrolled then there shouldn't be a problem. --Simon | talk 17:55, 26 November 2006 (PST)
  • Simon, I'm not talking about my edits. I'm talking about when I'm patrolling recent changes. That's what this page is about, right? When I patrol recent changes, I need to click diff for each entry, opening that change in a new tab. Then I review the change itself and have to then find the "markpatrolled" link on that page. I'd rather click this link with my keyboard instead of my mouse. I'm quite certain this is something the developers could do for us. Is it clear what I'm asking?
