Needless to say, my two 500GB hard drives are now installed, and combined with the 300GB boot drive I already have, I now have 1.3 TB of raw active storage in my main system. I’ve already re-done my backup scheme to handle this and got a good back up of it last night (to even more storage if you were wondering). It took a little over 7 hours to back it all up. Not bad and much faster than tape.<br />

Then it was installing them, formatting them in Windows, assigning drive letters, copying your data back onto them, and calling it a day.<br />
<br />
If you look real close, you’ll notice that I still have one drive bay left at the very top of the drive rack where the three drives are. I haven’t decided if I’ll fill it with anything (there’s not much airflow there to keep it cool), and if I do, what to put in there (either another 500GB drive or a 750GB drive or larger when I get around to it).<br />
