Small's DTEPStore (dtep.com) provides earth friendly household products for the do-it-yourself home owner and business. They have a large selection of cleaners, polishes, wood care items, and paint removers. All their products strive to be 100% non-toxic, biodegradable and plant based sources when possible. They also carry tools and accessories that include applicators, and drop cloths.
DTEP sells brands such as Ritz Arden, De-Solv-it MOM Approved, Saman Stain, DEFY Deck Stain and RemovALL Brand Paint Removers, which are trusted eco-friendly names, however, they are constantly working to keep their product lines relevant to what environmentally conscious consumers need and prefer. Consequently, a great deal of what DTEP does is evaluating various products lines. They look at three key factors in their evaluation:
- Safety for the user.
- Safety for the environment.
- The ability of the product to provide quality results (as compared to harsher alternatives).
Balancing these three requirements is often difficult, and while DTEP may not always succeed on all counts, they work hard to find which products are the most effective to their customers.
As another informational outlet, DTEP also provides Product Inquiry Blog (which functions much like a FAQ questionnaire). Product Inquiry is a portal for past, current, and potential customers.
DTEP Archive provides an archival record of DTEP pages as they previously existed prior to the reformat and upgrade of DTEP Website content.

History
DTEP began in late 2002 as a small, home-based business with the goal of serving environmentally conscious consumers. With the enormous increase in environmental awareness and concern among consumers all across the nation, the company has expanded and evolved its business model; next moving to spaces just off Interstate 275 in Colerain Township, Ohio. In January 2012 DTEP moved just outside Ross, Ohio on State Route 128. They work hard to be a leader in their industry by focusing on products which meet improved governmental standards while simultaneously fulfilling the needs of customers with quality household cleaning compounds. They pride themselves on a swift and personal response to customer emails, and welcome all kinds of questions and feedback. DTEP aka Down to Earth Products / DTEPStore sold to Small's Hardware, Inc a 5 store hardware chain (member of DoitBest cooperative) on November 18th, 2013.
Shipping
Small's DTEPStore accepts online orders only, and most items ship direct from their Lockland, Ohio Store/Warehouse. DTEP prides itself on avoiding the slow response time of many other online stores. They work hard to fill your order today, usually providing 24 hour turnaround.
Express shipping
As a result of the chemical nature of DTEP products, express air shipping is not usually available.
Returns
If there is a packing mistake, damage, defect, or any other error on their part, DTEP will provide you with a shipping label and/or instructions for returning the merchandise within 30 days. You will not be responsible for the cost, however you must first obtain a valid Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number from DTEP before returning the merchandise. All merchandise must be in new, unopened and resalable condition to qualify for return. DTEP does not accept any returns of opened merchandise.
