The Site, its Categories and Sections
My personal site is the web repository for my interests, that don’t have a dedicated site. As I tend to be interested in a wide range of subjects, the site is ’soft focussed’ because it does not have a central theme. However the site is divided into categories:
News As I am a news addict, the site does have a wide range of news feeds covering UK and World News, Aerospace and Defence, Science and Technology. Additional Sections covering Converged Infotech (Computing Internet, Telecommunications, Web) and Sport will be added as time permits.
Photos & Video The Photos and Video Category is always going to be a work in progress. The Photographs are either my own, from Photographers who have given me permission to publish/republish their work, or copyright is unknown, where despite my best efforts to hunt down the current holder to obtain permission to republish, I have been unable to do so. It is extremely unlikely that any Aircraft Photographs will be published on the site and definitely NO offensive or pornographic material. Within these guidelines almost any subject could be covered. As for Video, the same guidelines apply, although sources will normally be Video Sharing sites, rather than hosting in my Web Space. Currently there three subject albums in the Video Section entitled: Remembrance dealing with remembering and honouring those who died in war. Dead End Roads to Freedom - Detailing those who fought for freedom and lost! Finally Themes from Film and TV, I find evocative.
PDF Files It is planned that the Portable Document Format (PDF) Articles in the Category this will cover a wide range of subjects. So far the range has been limited to an Article on Mobile Phones, Some Poems, most on the Remembrance Theme and one of the most powerful Sermons of modern times.
Links Index (Link Lists Index) In part this will become my online Bookmark/Favourites Listing, but it is already more than that, as it now has a sections on my Fiction and Non-Fiction Libraries, plus a Section on Friends Pets (although these are all currently extremely limited), in fact the only comprehensive list of links is a page of Selected Charities.
About Index – Sometimes shown as Site Info and Services This is a pot pourri of everything that I cannot, or have decided not to allocate to another category. It is however divided into sub-sections in an attempt to retain some form of structure.
About Douglas Holland and this Web Site: Should contain two pages, one a brief autobiography. Which I cannot bring myself to write and the page you are currently reading, which is about this Website.
Special Web Sites and Archives: This section currently has four items:

This is a relatively new feature and the archive starts in April 2008.
