Sasha Bakhru has worked towards engineering a microcapsule-based platform for investigating the influence of various biochemical and topographical cues on differentiation and expansion. In particular, Sasha has employed a methylated collagen, prepared by esterification of a small fraction of the carboxylic acid groups of glutamic and aspartic acid residues on native porcine collagen to generate microcapsules by complex coascrevation.
