About cmcPs.com

The term network monitoring describes the use of a system that constantly monitors a computer network for slow or failing components and that notifies the network administrator in case of outages via email, pager or other alarms. It is a subset of the functions involved in network management. Complex networks in today's data centers around the world are comprised of many different devices such as routers ( Cisco,Brocade,Juniper, etc...), switches, printers, servers, load balancers, RAID, UPS and the list goes on and on. Managing those complex infrastructures can be an overwhelming and daunting responsibility. Adding to that massive array of network devices that keep your operation running 24x7 are a plethora of commercial applications, databases (SQL Server, Oracle,DB2), services and more, and, not to mention all of your homegrown scripts, applications and hacks that require their own change management policies.
