Cedarbrook Veterinary Care values our patients like family members and we provide a level of care and experience we’d wish for our own horses and ourselves. We have found that when a horse is fearful they often respond poorly to medications, require more anesthesia during procedures and, at worst, may be injurious. This results in the animal merely “surviving” veterinary treatments rather than being able to participate calmly in their own health. For this reason, and for the holistic health of our animals, Cedarbrook prioritizes in whole animal well-being - not just their physical health but also how our patients experience their vet care.  Our doctors take the time to ensure that a horse or companion animal (for bodywork) is not in a fearful state. This allows us to provide care by also treating for prevention and capability, not just crisis. Cedarbrook Veterinary Care was founded by Dr. Hannah Mueller, DVM, in 2004 as Evergreen Holistic Veterinary Care. What initially had started as a mobile holistic veterinary clinic has grown into a full-fledged facility while still offering clients the option of farm calls. Due to expansion and growth, it was decided in 2012, to change our name from Evergreen Holistic Veterinary Care-Equine to Cedarbrook Veterinary Care (in honor of Dr. Hannah’s canine ‘angel’ Cedar). The new expansion and new name has given us the opportunity to pursue more powerfully the holistic rehabilitation priorities that we established. Our practice thrives on a holistic combination of possible modalities rather than just considering alternative vs. traditional medicines. Our ‘holistic’ practice fully encompasses the word – it is inclusive and provides for the complete high quality care for all aspects of the whole patient—mind, body, herd, nutrition, fitness, etc. The balancing of these energies for fitness/bodywork avails our vets to a higher understanding for veterinary services, bio-mechanics, physical therapy and the like. This experience and intention strengthens our veterinarian’s perception and evaluation abilities to discern both the physical and energy potential of our patients. At Cedarbrook Veterinary Care we strive to maximize the quality of life for our equine patients by providing quality holistic veterinary health care. We do this by paying the utmost attention to the individual needs of our equine clients and their guardians through compassionate care and integrity. Our doctors have been and continue to be avid horse people. They have actual personal experience caring for and interacting with horses on a regular, daily basis outside of their practice. This includes chores, physical and mental training and treatment, riding, showing, and interacting with equines in a connected manner rather than simply considering them to be only a patient or client. Few equine veterinarians actually experience have this breadth of experience and interaction outside of their practice. Hannah Mueller, DVM - Dr. Hannah is a 2004 graduate from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has continued her studies to include equine sports medicine, lameness, advanced equine dentistry and more. Penny Lloyd, DVM - Dr. Penny joined EHVC-Equine in 2011. She brings with her over 20 years of integrated conventional and holistic veterinary medical experience. The staff here at Cedarbrook Veterinary Care play an integral role in the services that we offer our clients. Our staff is just as passionate about our clients as our veterinarians.
