Whether you are selling your home, or looking to purchase a new home, it is important to know if there are any underground storage tanks (UST) like home heating oil tank located on your property. Active uses a specialized tool called a magnetometer to aid in the location of old oil tanks for removal. A hidden or leaky oil tank could delay or even prevent the home sale. Using the magnetometer, Active will “sweep” the property to determine whether any anomalies indicate a possiable oil tank exists. Suspect locations are further investigated by inserting a tile probe into the ground in an attempt to determine if the anomaly is indeed an oil tank, and to establish the dimensions of the oil tank. In addition to the magnetometer survey, Active will visually inspect the site for other indicators of underground oil tanks.
Once an oil tank is located, Active Environmental can remove the old oil tank and install a new oil tank if needed.
