Take a careful look at other property sites to ensure that all their pages include both their VAT (P.IVA) number as required by Italian law and also they are registered with a chamber of commerce here in Italy, in fact in the Province within which they work the C.C.I.A.A number, which shows that they are allowed to conduct a business here in Italy.
None of these factors will negate the fact that you still have to consider carefully how you approach a property purchase here and the fact that if you are at all unsure take advice.
What the initial paragraph does highlight is the fact that even those people working here pretending not to be estate agents whilst selling property also would have to register whatever they do call their work with their local chamber of commerce.
To be able to register you have to have a business address, you have to hold a qualification in what you are doing that is recognised in Italy, and you also have to register for VAT purposes in order that you pay tax.
Ignoring these facts when looking at property here in Italy not only puts the buyer at risk, a registered person here has to carry insurance by law, to protect clients,but if you pay a non registered person here to act for you in a property sale for whatever reason, even to look you are also breaking the law as it is illegal here in Italy to pay money for any goods or services here without a fiscal receipt.
Should you buy a property and anything illegal is found in terms of payments made, ie your frindly english estate agent that is not registered gets caught by the authorities and your name is found and you have a house here if they think that you paid money to them a fine will be registered against your Italian property and it will be quite large.

Absolutely Abruzzo is a registered estate agent based in the city of Teramo,Abruzzo. Teramo is the capital city of the Province of which there are three others in the Region of Abruzzo,L'Aquila, made famous by its earthquakes and the largest of the provinces,the only one without a coastline and renowned in Italy for its bitterly cold winter temperatures and humid hot summers.Pescara, the smallest and most populated in terms of density and industrialisation.Chieti, that runs along the adriatic to the south of Pescara and most probably the closest of the provinces to the typical Italian southern mentality. The Teramo Province where we work is renowned for its clean beaches, its national parks, its transport links to both Rome, just 90 minutes by car, or Bologna just a few hours north via the A14. Its the province that produces the most renowned of the Abruzzo wines,has the highest peak, the Corno Grande of the Gran Sasso, with one of the few real ski resorts on the coastal side of the Appenines. Combines all the best of hill to mountainous areas with the coastal benefits. A province with the best climate due to it being so protected by the high mountain range and yet with its tunnel through the mountains close to Rome. The Abruzzo region as a whole has many diverse areas, but does benefit from being within easy reach of Rome airports,Ancona and its own at Pescara. Most probably the best value for money property in all central north Italy. Being a region that geographically divides Italy north south. It is a region where if you accept the risks and the climate of an inland province such as L'Aquila you can find property as cheap as anywhere in Italy. Or if you choose within the coastal provinces there are a wealth of resonably priced properties in areas that are considered secure and at low risk re quakes, with climates that are very manageable to live in all year round.
