History
All the different brands under Yum! Brands were started by different people indifferent times. They started as small stores or shops in the local market. Slowly they began their progress and became major players in the food industry. PepsiCo, Inc. acquired them in different times. In 1977 PepsiCo acquired Pizza Hut, in 1986 KFC and in 1978, Taco Bell restaurants. Then in 1997, these three chains were transferred to a new formation named as Tricon Global Restaurants Inc. This new company again acquired Long John Silver's and A&W Restaurants in a move to strengthen its presence and spread the business worldwide. The Tricon Global Restaurants Inc. changed its name to Yum! Brands later on.
Financials
In 2002, Yum!'s global sale was more than USD$9 billion. In 2005, it reported revenues of $9.34 billion.
