Since coming to our community in 1995, Rabbi Marc Volk and his wife, Jeryl, have enriched not only this congregation, but the entire community.
As one of our members wrote recently, "Rabbi Volk is a distinguished rabbi and a fine individual. Ever since we have known him, we have admired his genuine religious commitment and abiding sensitivity. We know that he has also gained the recognition and affection of his peers, as well as of his congregational family and community. He is a man of high principal and zealous devotion to Torah and the Jewish community."
At a time when many Rabbi's wives shun the role of Rebbitzen, Jeryl Volk embraces it with gusto. Even though she commutes daily to a full-time job in Manhattan, she manages to give much to our community, while fulfilling her duties as mother and grandmother. She is always welcoming guests for Shabbat and Yom Tov hospitality, leads discussions and classes, and is there as a friend to our congregants. She is funny, bright, kind, and compassionate. Her warmth and genuine friendliness are appreciated and cherished by the entire membership.
