- Brad Carter has been performing in restaurants, nightclubs, festivals, coffee houses, backyards and barns since the mid 1970s. Over these years he has written more than 200 songs. Although he was born in Ft Worth, Texas, Brad spent some of his early childhood in Midland, Texas before his family settled for quite sometime in Richardson, a suburb of Dallas. However, his youthful suburban living was interrupted when his family moved to a tiny panhandle town, Tulia, Texas in 1973. Brad finally settled in Lubbock as a young adult in 1977. His songwriting reflects the diversity of his environment from childhood, through youth and into adulthood, and speaks to the joys and pains of living in both the rural and urban setting.
