About Us
Proprietors are Angela and Zana Jackson, a mother and daughter team equally enthusiastic about their Dales ponies and the area in which they live. Angela has managed several businesses in the past and is pleased to put this experience into her passion for ponies and Yorkshire Dales Trekking Centre. She is BET Ride Leader qualified as well as being mother of 5! Angela loves to spend time with her two ponies, Megan her non-Dales mare, and Blossom her roan Dales pony. You'll also see her with yard dogs Midge and Jack.
Zana has made a career with horses a dedicated passion. After leaving school she studied for an HND in horse business and science, taking work placements various studs, competition yards, trekking centres and a point to point racing yard. She is also BET Ride Leader and Centre Manager qualified and trains exam candidates for BET exams. Several times throughout the year she will examine for BET at other exam centres. Zana is very keen on training Black, with whom she spends time perfecting dressage moves, and all the trekking ponies, particularly the youngsters coming into the trek line. Her favourite youngster is Elke, who she got up at 3.40a.m. to see being born.
Emma Hewitt is Ride Leader qualified and works full time on the yark ensuring all the ponies are well fed, looked after and generally happy and content., She is very friendly and approachable and makes for great entertainment out on the treks and trails. Her dedication to horse wellbeing also extends to riders and she'll do her best to put you at ease. Her favourite trekking pony is Oscar and her favourite youngster is Jack Flash.
