- Yakka Oy... is a true Aussie action packed movie sensation. This will be one of the fewer Aussie cult movies created by independent filmmakers that have actors who have appeared in some block Buster movies such as MATRIX 2, MATRIX 3 and our Aussie legend Rob Steele. Half of our crew came directly from the sets of Matrix 1, 2, 3; Anna and the King; Mission Impossible 2; and... Star Wars Episode I. If you are a Martial Arts fan, yes, we have some big names like Steve Jez, who was the kick boxing world champ in 1994. Also, we had Simon Lee our runner up in World Capoera championships held in Sydney about 2 years ago. How did independent filmmakers get hold of these high calibre people? The story I guess… and good, unique, action sequences, (fights man!!). This action extravaganza was filmed mainly in Canberra and involved just under, 300 people. It is probably the biggest production undertaken in the Nation's Capital by an independent production company. Yes, we were on the news and the papers, however, the best reward was that everyone had fun on the set and that the whole ACT community got behind this film. This movie was not made by individuals. IT WAS A RESULT OF HARD WORK FROM MANY PEOPLE. Hard working staff and crew on and off the set.
