Description
Wyonegonic is a place to learn values and life skills that will help a child thrive in today’s world. This means assuming responsibilities in group living; it means making decisions and learning from successes and failures; it means challenging one’s self to try something new; it means discovering how much you can learn by hard work. Wyonegonic is not designed to give answers but to offer opportunities. A child has the freedom to be herself. Counselors are encouraged to help the girls develop their positive qualities and assist them as they develop confidence.
The Directors, Carol Sudduth and Steve Sudduth, remain in close contact with campers and staff. The Sudduths want to assure that camp is an ideal combination - a most enjoyable experience and one that provides growth and development. Carol Sudduth has owned and directed Wyonegonic since 1969; first with her late husband and since 1993 with Steve, oldest of three children. Carol is an ACA Certified Camp Director. Wyonegonic is now owned by the Sudduth Family.
There are 80 people working at Wyonegonic and the ratio of counselors to campers is 1:3. Cabin Counselors have a minimum of one year of college and about 75% of the staff are college age. The most important responsibility for a cabin
