OPPORTUNITY COMPANY
The company is a non-profit organisation with the aim of giving young people the opportunity for employment and training based on trade and other business areas. Complimentary to that, it allows employers to shed many of the worries of employing apprentices/trainees, and at the same time, it provides employers with a wages service, regular visits to solve problems, and helps with the new training and employment agenda now happening.
The company also operates the Retail and Business Skills Centre, a VETAB Accredited off-the-job training Centre in Penrith and works closely with the State Government Department responsible for employment and training as well as Industry.
Having links with schools, TAFE Colleges, Industry and local communities, the company has an enviable reputation. The company is controlled by a Board of Directors drawn from Local Government, Industry and the Trade Union Movement. It also responds to a Code of Conduct and is a member of the Group Training Association of New South Wales.
