About us
This independent Association was set up in 1994 specifically to help the Deaf, deafened, deafblind and hard of hearing people of West Sussex. As we are not affiliated to other charities, we are able to run a streamlined service with low administration costs.
National statistics say that one in seven people in this country are hearing impaired. In West Sussex alone, there are approximately 5,000 Deaf people and another 250,000 who have hearing problems.
We celebrated our tenth anniversary in 2004 and during those ten years have helped thousands of people to communicate and enjoy a better quality of life by supplying help, support and environmental aids equipment. (We also help people in their places of work by ensuring they have everything they need to enable them to function on a daily basis). We can also help hearing impaired people to work more effectively by the provision of appropriate equipment.
