Western Public Safety Alternatives, Inc. (WPSA)
WPSA provides tax deductible programs allowing individual taxpayers to support law enforcement. Further, WPSA promotes public safety and provides budget support for safety and law enforcement agencies by donation of money and property, and by performing certain collateral administrative functions formerly conducted by law enforcement, fire and other public safety agencies.
WPSA was organized in June 1993 as a private nonprofit public benefit corporation for charitable purposes. The company received an advanced ruling letter from the Internal Revenue Service effective from the inception of the company which allows exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The company also received an exemption letter from the State of California.
WPSA has a Vehicle Donation Program which provides a means for individuals to donate their used vehicle to a 501(c)3 charity, and to take a charitable donation on their tax return. The donor avoids the headaches of selling their vehicle. Additionally for each vehicle donated to WPSA, a significant donation is made by WPSA to the local enforcement agency in which the donor is located.
