- USMC_Vet is obviously a Marine Corps Veteran and is also a veteran of the Gulf War, having served from 1985-1993. Upon arrival in-theater, he realized that he knew precious little about any of the countries in the region, their leaders, politics or history. Each aspect having contributed greatly to the situation at hand, he made a conscious decision to change that irresponsible weakness. The purpose of this blog is to bridge the gap of knowledge that exists between the event and the casual observer through posts written in conversational, readable style. It is the decided focus of this blog to cover important un-covered, under-covered or dryly covered events that are worthy of more (or more accurate) attention than the mainstream media provides. Fisking occurs regularly.
