Element Products, Inc. is located in Broomfield, Colorado, just north of Denver, near the Interlocken Technology Park. Element is a product development firm with a focus on bringing robotic technologies to the consumer marketplace. We develop high-tech products for our customers on a consulting basis in addition to partnering with select companies. Consumer robotics is a new market that is experiencing rapid growth. At Element Products we believe that a large potential market exists for consumer products that use robotic technology to intelligently fuse sensing and motion.
Over the past few years, we have seen the robotic vacuum cleaner become a cultural icon; we’ve seen robots explore the planet Mars and aid in military reconnaissance missions. Robotic technologies have increasingly made their way into toys and other consumer products. Many analysts have compared consumer robotics to the early PC market. According to a report published by the UN Economic Commission for Europe, 4.1 million robots will be doing jobs in consumer homes by the end of 2007. Robots will become a commonplace part of our lives over the next decade. Significant business opportunities exist for companies that can bring robotics to the everyday consumer at an attractive price point. With the release of our Scribbler robot, we have made our first penetration into this market. We believe that there are dozens of potential consumer robotic applications and we are actively seeking partners to seize these opportunities with us.
Ben Wirz, President
Mr. Wirz has co-founded two successful companies and now serves as President of Element Products, Inc. where he primarily helps customers build high-volume consumer products. Mr. Wirz has managed the development, manufacturing, and product launch for several successful products and numerous research projects. He has a diverse background in high performance and low-cost electronics and control systems for a variety of applications including industrial, military reconnaissance and explosive remediation robots, educational toys, and consumer products. Mr. Wirz has nearly a decade of design experience with mixed signal, digital, power, sensors, control and automation, with a focus on mobile robotic applications for the real world. He has an Electrical Engineering degree from Washington University as well as a degree in physics. He has co-authored two robotics books, numerous technical articles and is listed as an inventor on several robotics technology patents.
