Wildflower Farm began in 1988 as a wholesale dried flower growing and distribution company. Founded by husband and wife team of Paul Jenkins and Miriam Goldberger, Wildflower Farm expanded in 1991 to become "Ontario's Original Pick Your Own Flower Farm" and has blossomed into a leading wildflower nursery and natural gardening centre supplying hardy perennial plants, seeds and site specific seed mixes. Wildflower Farm is now popular destination point for many nature lovers and wildflower enthusiasts, with thousands of people making a point of visiting each season.
Originally located on a 100 acre farm near Schomberg, Ontario, in the autumn of 2004, Wildflower Farm moved to the entire operation to Coldwater, Ontario.
Located right on Highway 12 just 10 km from Orillia, ON, (see our Map ) the new location of Wildflower Farm has a one acre demonstration garden consisting of thousands of mature native wildflowers transplanted from the old Schomberg farm with large paths of our drought-tolerant, low maintenance turf grass, Eco-Lawn. Most of these pesticide free demonstration gardens are organized by individual species and a few of the new gardens are mixed species gardens. In addition, a 1 1/4 acre tallgrass prairie was seeded in the fall of 2004. This prairie will be a fabulous living demonstration of the process of creating a meadow or prairie for all of our visitors and as it matures over the years, we will be incorporating paths into the prairie to create a "Wildflower Maze!"
