Based in Broadview Heights, Ohio, Wholesale Supplies Plus, Inc., is a small online company specializing in affordable, professional-quality supplies for soap making, candle making, and skin care. Debbie May has served as the privately held corporation's President and Chief Executive Officer since she founded it in 1999. She currently manages a team of 35 employees.
Before starting Wholesale Supplies Plus, Debbie May attended Western Michigan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Services. She went on to complete a Master of Health Administration at Central Michigan University and graduated as a registerednurse from the Bronson Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Debbie May retired from her career as a registered nurse to stay at home with her daughter. She picked up soap making as a hobby and founded "May Showers," a soap-making business she managed from her home. Debbie May began teaching soap-making classes online; those early online classes became the foundation for Wholesale Supplies Plus. Offering a variety of unique and thoughtful gifts for any special occasion, Wholesale Supplies Plus has grown to serve more than 100,000 customers worldwide.
Debbie and her husband, Dave May, also founded a nonprofit, Life Center for Autism, which works to improve the quality of life for people with autism. All purchases made from Wholesale Supplies Plus offer customers the opportunity to donate to this cause. Currently, the organization is seeking funds to build a specialized activity center in Ohio.
