About Werkomed
Werkomed (Pty) Ltd. (100% owned by Klinica SA) commenced business during the course of 1994 with the objective to market Pre-evacuated Wound drainage products to private specialists in Southern Africa.
We have achieved good results with these devices and now stand at a value market share of 35% in the private hospital market. During the second half of 2001, we launched the DONOR Autologous Blood Transfusion system. This product is particularly relevant due to the scarcity, cost and indeed the reliability of present blood supplies.
Both the Wound Drainage devices and the DONOR system are developed and sold in a number of countries by Van Straten Medical of The Netherlands, for whom we are the exclusive distributors in Sub Saharan Africa. The DONOR system has been developed together with Pall Inc. USA.
