What in the heck is Webfroot?
Damn, we knew you’d ask that question… To be honest, Webfroot is what we, the posters to Webfroot, think is cool. We’re (mostly) from Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, that home of bungy jumping, extreme sports and sheep. But we’re not into much of any of that — we’re into geeky stuff. And damn, are we proud of it :)
Started in July 2001 with a crew of 3, most of the Webfroot crew are on the ‘net every day, looking at funky, funny, fascinating or down right freaky web sites, and then we post them on “the ‘froot”. We don’t post everything we see, but we do post stuff you might also on Slashdot or BoingBoing, and many other geeky news sites. And we’re not afraid to give our opinions. If you disagree with us, that’s cool, but don’t blame us.
We also like looking at things from a New Zealand Geek point of view. A famous NZ geek, Lord Ernest Rutherford once said
