Wymondham College Remembered
Description
It was 35 years before I went back to Wymondham College; a gap that reflected a mostly unhappy time there between 1958 and 1964. 'Mostly' excludes the friendships and the mutual support that made life worth living in the fairly spartan regime of those days, so after the hesitant return I set about tracking down old friends, mainly with the aid of the internet. At the 60's reunion in 2000, it was clear how much pleasure everyone gained from meeting up again & sharing old memories, so I thought I'd try and create a similar 'virtual' experience for the benefit of all past-pupils. It's important that you should enjoy the content, so please let us know as soon as possible if anything offends.
When a basic Wymondham College Remembered site was launched in April 2001, I never imagined that there would be almost 3000 visitors a month before the year end! To keep pace with your mail and to speed incorporation of your contributions, Morag Ward (nee Muir) joined me as co-editor in November 2001, but sadly had to leave in March 2002 to deal with increased personal commitments. Morag is replaced by Steve Grant, who had already been working behind the scenes as technical adviser and College geography/structures specialist.
The content of the site is intended to be everything that the College Magazine wasn't! Please think of it as 'your' site and share your own recollections, photos & general memorabilia. Please direct anything related to sport, buildings and College geography to Steve, with the remainder of topics to me.
