Description
Except for the Strategy Committee, the Standing Committees will meet eight times during the year at six weekly intervals, but a meeting may be cancelled if there is no business to transact.
The Hearings Committee will meet only if there is a Resource Management Act (RMA) Resource Consent application, Liquor Licensing application, a Dangerous Dog Classification appeal or temporary road closure appeal to be heard.
At least seven working days (the absolute minimum) before each standing committee meeting a Committee Chairman's Briefing Session is held. The Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Senior Officer (Manager) for the Committee, and the Elected Members' Support Leader/Committee Secretary meet to consider the agenda. The Mayor may also attend Committee Chairman's Briefing Sessions.
