In 1998 Diane Duff opened Viking Studios in Whitefish, Montana. She offered high end wall finishes she had learned in a 5-day comprehensive wall finishing class. These unique finishes found a strong demand and business grew rapidly and so did her repertoire of faux finishing techniques as she took training from some of the modern masters of faux finishing. Diane believes there is always more to learn and so she travels to workshops and conferences a few times each year.
Viking Studios today offers a wide variety of professional finishes including: Venetian plasters, Old World textures, European plasters, European furniture finishing, Trompe l'oeil, murals, faux marbles and faux wood. These finishes are available to homeowners, businesses and designers in northwest Montana. In 2004, Diane began to give instruction in professional faux finishing techniques at her faux finishing school in Kalispell, Montana. Students have the opportunity to learn the techniques she practices as well as receive instruction in using the unique professional grade products available to the faux finishing trade.
