I spent a few days going over the field for the third leg of the Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes. It is, perhaps, the most unual Triple Crown race in years. Neither the winner of the Kentucky Derby nor the winner of the Preakness are running. It makes for a wide open race and should make for some great betting possibilities.
So far, my instincts have been wrong and my skills non-existant. I was all over Point Determined in the Derby and he finished well back. I couldn't see Barbaro losing in the Preakness and even he did, I had an affinity for Like Now. I wasn't close.
