Title

UK Wolf Conservation Trust - Working to keep wolves in the wild

Description

About Us

Roger Palmer, who died in March 2004, had kept wolves for many years as a private individual. The more he learned about wolves the keener he became to dispel the myths and misconceptions surrounding them. Encouraged by his friend Erich Klinghammer the founder of Wolf Park in North America, Roger was persuaded to form the UK Wolf Conservation Trust.

Since its inception in 1995 the Wolf Trust has gone from strength to strength. We have three enclosures, each of around two acres, which house our seven wolves. The wolves are kept in three groups. The three European wolves, a male and his two sisters, form one group. The four North American wolves are kept as two pairs with two females in one and a male and female in the other. Both our males have had vasectomies as we have no intention of breeding from them. Look in WOLVES for more details of our wolves.

We have over 2,500 Trust supporters. They come from all walks of life with a shared ambition, to help to keep wolves where they belong, in the wild. Most of them have a Walking Membership, which entitles them to a walk through glorious woodland with the wolves, membership photos and other benefits. See MEMBERSHIP for details.
