CellFriendlyª is a new technology for cannulas. It is now available exclusively from Tulip. Preliminary evaluations have proven so positive, we believe we can safely say that once you try CellFriendly cannulas, you'll never use traditional cannulas again.
What is CellFriendly? It is a brand new (patent pending) fusion surface technology called CF2000ª that transforms both the lumen and the outer surface of the cannula. Under a microscope, even highly polished stainless steel is a landscape of spikes and pits. Obviously, tissue passing over this surface experiences substantial cellular destruction. This spiky landscape also creates a great deal of friction.
The CF2000 fusion surface technology changes the structure of the surface of the stainless steel, creating a substantially smoother and more lubricious surface. It acts as a cloaking device between the cell and the stainless steel. The result is a more cell friendly cannula that passes much more easily through the tissues.
