Description
Zane Pearce started his tyre career working for Dunlop Tyres S.A. First in the technical and then in sales and service departments for Dunlop and India Tyres. While at Dunlop he realised that there was an opportunity to export new premium brand tyres.
In 1986 he left Dunlop and started a small exporting business, exporting Dunlop tyres to Europe. The business grew rapidly and in 1993 Tony Forbes, a chartered accountant and ex financial director of one of the largest tyre dealers in South Africa, joined Zane to run the financial side of the business. Together, in 1995, they formed the company Transworld Tyres (Pty) Ltd.
In the same year, Paul Willmott joined the company as Marketing and Sales Manager Africa. After many years in the tyre industry he brought a wealth of knowledge into the company.
