About the Artist
Andrew A. Powell – that would be my name. I still reside in my hometown of Douglasville, Georgia, since the days of September 1982. All my life I have been propelled by the fascination of creating art – the free expression that can never be taken away. From drawing on the walls to taking photos at the zoo when I was five, there has always been something about art that has been in my soul. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt passionate about my work and lately there seems to be purpose behind the intentions.
About the Site
Website design started out as a hobby back in the late 90s, but as the new millennium strolled around I finally purchased a domain name. Trade Relic was launched sometime in 2001 as a way for me to continue on with my website design work and further display my craft. Through the past few years the layout of the website has changed drastically and now it is on its 5th layout. This site is constructed in CSS and is powered by WordPress.
Tools for the Craft
Photography – I am still stuck in the 35mm world using an Olympus IS-3 DLX and a broken Velbon camcorder tripod. The camera has been fairly good over the years, but now that my experience in photography has increased I’m looking into moving digital. My choice is to start off with the Nikon D70s or pending D90, buy an array of lenses and equipment and eventually step up to a D200. For the moment I am still scanning 4×6 prints and 35mm negatives on my Epson 4490 scanner and post work is completed in Photoshop CS.
