Description
The idea for Touchstone Tours came about in 2003 when Lucy and Colin were on holiday in Cornwall , visiting a couple of Bronze Age monuments that they had walked 5 miles or so along the coastal path to visit. It was not a great day, the weather was closing in and it was out of season.
A lady pulled up in her old car and pulled out a much worn guide book of historical monuments in Cornwall , in which there were 2 lines about this site. She was travelling around the different sites and was fascinated when we explained a little more about the period, the site and the general history - so much so she gave us a much needed lift back to the tent!
We don't know her name, or where she comes from, but that lady's holiday plans gave us the idea - why not set out tours like this in our own area? And so Touchstone was born, the idea being to bring to life the ancient monuments that abound in this area and give you a fresh insight into the Lake District's history.
