Formed in 1983, WACVB initiates and administers cooperative ventures among Wisconsin’s top destination marketing organizations to enhance Wisconsin's tourism industry promotional and educational efforts. WACVB currently has 26 full members and five associate members, representing over $25 million in tourism promotional budgets to drive tourism growth in Wisconsin.
WACVB operates www.escapetowisconsin.com, a leisure travel Web site focusing on WACVB members, partners with the Wisconsin Department of Tourism to promote the state as a meetings and convention destination through the Think Wisconsin campaign, including www.thinkwisconsin.com and as a sports marketing destination through the Sports Wisconsin campaign (see www.sportswisconsin.com) along with the WI Sports Development Corp and WI Department of Tourism.
WACVB also coordinates a fall tourism convention and serves as a member of the Wisconsin Tourism Federation, the state tourism industry’s lobbying arm.
