In the Spring of 1996, Karim Zaman attended Entrepreneur Magazine’s Entrepreneur Expo, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. There in attendance was a company called Comtel Communication displaying payphone programs for interested parties considering entering in the payphone industry. Since Mr. Zaman was interested in the starting a business he decided to buy into the program. He wrote a check to Comtel Communications for $3,120.00 for two payphones from his personal checking account.
