Sister Kristine Anne Harpenau was elected the 12th prioress of the Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand, Indiana, on June 2, 2003. She began a five-year term of office with a formal installation ceremony at Monastery Immaculate Conception on July 12. She succeeded Sister Joella Kidwell, who served as prioress from 1998 to 2003. A native of Tell City, Indiana, Sister Kristine Anne entered the monastery in 1967 from St. Paul Parish.
