The twenties roared nightly as residents and guests of The Belmont danced in a ballroom done up in a "festive French manner". The manager, formerly with the Ritz-Carlton in New York, maintained a standard of service and cuisine considered comparable to the finest continental hotels. When completed in 1924, The Belmont Hotel, as it was then known, was touted as one of the city's most luxurious residences, "catering to Chicago's aristocracy". The Belmont was the spirit of a decade.
Acquiring the hotel in 1995, Wexenthaller Realty Management, Inc., saw the opportunity to offer luxury rental residences that combine Twentieth Century comfort with 1920's splendor. Awarded landmark status, The Belmont House has been given an 18.5 million dollar facelift and is indeed once again, the spirit of a decade.
