The history of the Tarxien Scout Group can be traced back to 1935, when Mr Joe Scicluna formed the 1st Tarxien Scout Group. The group was successful for a while, but the outbreak of the Second World War in Malta caused the group to halt 4 years later in 1939. This however was not the end, and 49 years later the group was reborn, thanks to the effort of Mr David Dowdal.
